Feedback Grid

This activity helps you collect and digest feedback, then spark questions and ideas. It’s useful for processing input and determining next steps in real-time or after an event, like a presentation or community engagement session.

Example Scenario: Create a roadmap for transitioning to virtual programming.

Instructions:

Draw the grid:

Create a four-quadrant grid, and label each of the quadrants:

  • "Things that Worked"

  • "Things to Change"

  • "New Ideas to Try"

  • "Questions We Still Have"

Gather feedback:

Have participants write down their feedback on sticky notes, placing them in the appropriate quadrant. Encourage specific and constructive criticism.

Cluster and discuss:

As a team, cluster similar pieces of feedback together and discuss. Look for patterns and themes in the feedback.

Analyze and plan:

Analyze the feedback in each quadrant to determine actionable next steps.

Notes:

  • Consider using different colored sticky notes to categorize feedback (e.g., by audience segment).

  • Use this activity in conjunction with other activities, such as Assumptions and Questions or Storyboarding, to begin implemented feedback.
